After several months of operational challenges (out of stocks, shipping glitches, etc.) we've made the difficult choice to temporarily pause our website sales for maintenance. What's the difference between FORTO Coffee Shots and Espresso?

FORTO is actually quite different from espresso! FORTO has either 100 or 200 mg of caffeine depending on the flavor you choose, whereas a single espresso shot can range anywhere from 25-214 mg of caffeine. With FORTO, you know exactly how much caffeine you are consuming! The brewing process is also different, as espresso is brewed with boiling hot water and lots of pressure, while FORTO is cold brewed for 20 hours and made with more beans than regular coffee, giving it a smoother, sweeter, less acidic taste–a major benefit of cold brew in general! Lastly, while espresso must be ordered at a coffee shop or cafe, FORTO is easily enjoyed on-the-go; it’s sold in over 40,000 locations nationwide and comes in a TSA approved, leak-proof, container that's great to travel with .

What does FORTO taste like?

It’s delicious, of course! Imagine the finest coffee on the planet (Organic, Fair Trade, 100% Arabica), then imagine we made it even tastier by cold brewing it for 20 hours. It is light and deliciously-smooth, while giving you the energy you need.

What type of coffee beans do you use?

We only use 100% Arabica coffee beans, hand-selected from family farms in Colombia.

How do you brew your coffee?

Our unique cold brew process includes hand-selecting, then grounding, then soaking 100% Arabica coffee beans in cold water for over 20 hours. Then the water is brought to room temperature, and after steeping, the coffee grounds are filtered out of the water. The result is a deliciously smooth coffee.

How much caffeine or energy does a bottle have?

We have 100mg flavors equal to 1 full cup of coffee and 200mg flavors equal to 2 full cups of coffee.

How many bottles can I drink each day?

Consult your doctor in case you have a heart condition or should not be drinking caffeinated products. For most people, we recommend only drinking 2 bottles of FORTO per day, several hours apart (that’s assuming you’re not also drinking other high-energy drinks at the same time). Consider limiting caffeine to avoid nervousness, sleeplessness, or rapid heartbeat.

Can pregnant women or children drink it?

Unfortunately no! This level of caffeine is not recommended for children, pregnant or nursing women. They’ll have to wait to try delicious FORTO Strong Coffee, until after they’ve had the baby, or until after they become adults!

What flavors does FORTO come in?

6 delicious flavors: 4 latte coffee shots made with organic whole milk and 2 pure black coffee shots. We’re working on other flavors to launch later! If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to reach out!

How many calories and grams of sugar are in a FORTO?

FORTO contains 0 to 7 grams of organic cane sugar per bottle depending on the flavor, with some of the sugar occurring naturally within the organic whole milk. The calorie count ranges from 0 to 35 calories per bottle.

Does it contain any milk?

We have latte flavors, made with organic milk and pure black flavors that are dairy-free. Check out our shop page for the full selection.

Can I add milk or creamer into the bottle myself?

Yes! We designed the bottle to have some head-space at the top to add milk or creamer if you prefer it that way!

Is it All-Natural?

Yes, we use just a few simple ingredients. FORTO doesn’t contain any artificial ingredients, nor any preservatives!

Is it Organic?

FORTO branded shots are certified USDA Organic (our partner shots are not).

Is it Fair Trade?

FORTO only uses Fair Trade certified coffee.

Is it Gluten-Free?

Yes, none of the ingredients we use contain any Gluten.

What is the shelf life of your drinks?

Unopened, the bottles last up to 12 months from the day we brew them. When purchasing from our website, we promise that your order will have at least 2 months of shelf life for your enjoyment. If you're looking to stock up and enjoy FORTO on a regular basis - we suggest checking out our subscription program to receive regular shipments at the best prices.

How do I open and drink the bottle?

Just snap-open the cap, then peel off the seal (which is there to prevent oxidation, protect the taste and ensure no-tamper evidence). Then you can sip, shoot, or mix with another drink!

Is the bottle portable?

Oh yes, we designed it just for that reason. So go ahead and throw it your pocket or purse, and take it with you on the road.

Can I heat up the bottle?

We recommend you pour the contents of your FORTO bottle into another cup that is microwave-friendly. PLEASE NOTE: each FORTO bottle has a plastic seal under the cap, which should be removed prior to heating in microwave.

Can I refrigerate the bottle?

Yes, of course! We think it tastes great over ice.

Can I drink half a bottle and save the rest for later?

We recommend drinking immediately upon opening. If you save an opened bottle for later consumption, not only will the coffee taste turn as it is exposed to oxygen, but because there are no preservatives, it won't be safe for more than an hour or two.

After finishing my bottle, can I recycle it?

Yes, we designed it that way! The FORTO bottle is recyclable in communities that recycle #3 plastics.

I've seen a larger (11oz) FORTO coffee, what is this and where can I get more?!

We're currently in the process of launching our newest product – an 11oz Energy Coffee! We had a lot of customers asking for a larger version of FORTO to sip and savor, so we made it happen. Just like our shots, our Energy Coffee has 200mg of caffeine and is made with Organic, Fair-Trade coffee,Organic cane sugar and Organic milk. Our 11oz Energy Coffee will be widely available at the end of summer, but until then, check your local Walmart to try it out!

What products can I subscribe to? Which products are available for auto-delivery?

Most of our products are available on subscription. To find out if a particular product is available for subscribe-and-save, check the individual product page.

How do I start a subscription / auto-delivery?

1. Add the product to your cart
2. Select the “Subscribe & Save” option
3. Select the how often you want your product delivered
4. Enter the how many you want in each delivery
5. Checkout

Where can I find my subscription details?

You can find details of your subscription(s) under My Account > Manage Subscriptions. For each product in Manage Subscriptions, you can:
- Increase / decrease the number of units
- Change the delivery frequency
- Skip next delivery
- Change delivery address
- Change the credit card details
- Cancel your subscription

Can I group my subscriptions in one order?

As long as the next order date, customer email, credit card details, billing & shipping address, and shipping method is the same, it can be grouped into one shipment.

Will I get an Email Notifications?

Expect to receive emails from us when:
- You’ve updated / cancelled the subscription
- The order failed (because the credit card has expired / is over the limit / has been cancelled)
- Your card is about to expire and the details need to be updated
